Each one of us has our own bars. Some of us get stressed very easily and some are calm and composed. Some people like the pressure of work as it helps them to stay motivated while others get stressed easily. Are you thinking which one of these are you?
Whichever category you fall into, before your big day, it’s very important to think of an example of the question “How do you deal with stressful situations” where you’ve handled your stress without affecting your work to make the interviewers believe your productivity and efficiency was not affected by all this.
To work out the best approach for answering “HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH STRESSFUL SITUATIONS?”, Let me first tell you Why interviewers ask this question? He just wants to know how do you act and react to work-related stress. Do you stay calm and composed or get frustrated very easily?
Secondly, he also wants to know how you handled stress in the past to get a rough picture of how you are going to react in the future in similar situations. The interviewer will gauge you based on your approach towards such situations.
Another reason is, they want to know if you are aware of how pressure affects you? They want to see if you understand your strengths and weaknesses and do you know how to work on them? You can use some examples from your past incidents where you can showcase your strengths which you applied in that situation to get out of it. This will show them that you understand how to control your emotions and how to take the necessary actions to handle the situation in a better way.

ONE OF THE EXAMPLES FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO WORK UNDER PRESSURE:
I work better under pressure. Working on tight deadlines brings out the best in me and helps me to stay motivated. I think people do their best work in a healthy pressure environment. Recently, My senior was supposed to give a presentation for our company’s new product launch. But then she couldn’t. So I was selected to make a presentation in such a short period and it turned out the clients loved it and my boss commended me for my work.
ANOTHER EXAMPLE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DON’T LIKE TO WORK UNDER PRESSURE:
I won’t deny that working under pressure gets stressful for me sometimes. While working on my last project, we had to work with different teams who had different timelines. As I was a project lead, there were times when because of miscommunication between teams, the release of the project got delayed. Since then, I try to take regular updates from the teams, keeping a check on various departments and giving them an extra time frame than required so that everything gets finished on time. This way things are done on time.
