Your resume is the most important paper of your career, but how to mention all the details in that one particular paper to make it more attractive can be daunting for many. Whatever your concern is I am going to breakdown everything you need to know on “How to build your resume to get maximum calls” from scratch.
- PICK A FORMAT: Before writing anything, you need to decide how you want your resume to look like. Prefer using some organized formats so that it becomes easily readable to the interviewer instead of writing everything down in paragraphs. Choose an elegant format with subtle colors and not so bright or dull colors. But make sure your resume should look professional.
- BASIC INFORMATION: Your contact information should always go on top of your resume so that the recruiter can get in touch with you. This includes your name, contact details, your email. You can also add a URL to your LinkedIn account.
- OBJECTIVE: Objective is your career goal. Start with your 2-3 skills followed by the position you are applying for? It’s essential to mention the role for which you’re giving the interview and the skills you possess which are required for those roles? Ensure to keep it short, crisp, and to the point.
- EDUCATIONAL DETAILS: For this, the most preferable format is the tabular method. It makes it more clear and readable. List everything reverse chronologically. Start with your latest qualification with the institute’s names’ followed by your CPA/PERCENTAGE followed by higher secondary then secondary details.
- WORK EXPERIENCE: If you’re a fresher instead of this, add a column of internships and training which you did in your under graduation. Mention the field in which you did the internship/Training, company’s name, duration, and the most important what you learned in that. How does it align with your career goals? Mention if you have any volunteer experience. If you have prior experience, mention your job title, company’s name, the duration you worked in that company.
- PROJECTS: List out the projects you worked on, duration, and a short description of the project. Mention the skills you gained while working on those projects.
- CERTIFICATIONS: Certification is a document that proves you’ve gained a specific skill and is issued by an accredited organization. When adding a certification to a relevant section of your resume, specify the name of the organization and the name of the document. Before that, you should assess your certificates and mention only those which are relevant to your job profile. List out the certifications reverse chronologically.
- ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Accomplishments are any professional, educational, or personal milestones you have achieved. Including accomplishments on your resume can help illuminate your strengths and growth to potential employers. It could be of any event or competition you took part in the college or your office., Include the above-mentioned points on “how to build a resume to get maximum calls” in your resume and I assure you will get your dream job.
