The interview question “what are your expectations from us” varies from person to person. There are no right or wrong answers for this. FINANCIAL EXPECTATIONS: When the interviewer asks you about your salary expectation. Don’t use phrases like whatever this job deserves or even worse a particular amount? This sounds very naïve and creates an impression that you don’t know the value of work you’re doing.

Most importantly, know the job description and the company and find out the industry salary for those roles in LinkedIn. This will give you an idea of what range the company is paying for that role. While answering doesn’t jump into the salary part straight away, talk about the benefits the company is providing and then shift the focus on negotiation.

JOB EXPECTATIONS: When the interviewer asks you about your job expectations he wants to ask you whether your career goals are in line with the company. He wants to know if you are willing to learn and grow with the company.

Ensure that you mention in your answer how you want to grow professionally and personally in this company, what projects you would want to be a part of, what technologies you are looking forward to learning and how the company will help you achieve it.

OTHER EXPECTATIONS: Apart from the above two expectations some people look for flexibility in office timings. Then some want work from home benefits frequently, others are willing to work on on-site projects because of their love for traveling. Talking about such expectations with the interviewer in advance is important.
